yeah ive always done better pulling but i talk to guys that prefer pushing, allows them to turn tighter and go back through an area quicker, now go try tuckertown, its got a higher white crappie population

Gene the orange is a rubber type mat texture material a friend gave me , that Im trying out. I bought some 4x8x1/2 foam board I'm also going to try out as flotation it seems to be a lighter material. I think it might work better for crappie when they get hooked. It might let me see the bite a little better and might not have as much drag when reeling in a fish. The ones I fished yesterday worked great it was just really rough water and sometimes it was hard to tell there was a fish on especially with the smaller ones. Going to high rock tomorrow with Mac crappie to try them again , maybe the wind will not be as bad. Trying to find some more yellow release clips to put on the new boards with the foam board. Thanks for the comments fellows

Yea but I didn't use metal , I think it's called coroplast board. I used solid brass rod and bent my angle at 90 o then threaded it on both ends. I tried the threaded rod but it breaks when you bend it.

Hey JP, I pulled crankbaits for the first time the other day at Randleman and we caught about 25. I watched some videos on pulling crankbaits with planer boards and it almost looked like more trouble than it was worth. Just wondering if you work yourself to death or is it worth the trouble? Seems pulling the shallower baits would work better on planer boards getting them away from the boat some.

Jus my opinion only , it's no trouble for me but it all comes down to what you like. I like it because I didn't get tangled up much plus I covered more area with the wider spread from the planer boards
