Default Information on high rock or randleman lakes

Hey everybody, the wife has a conference in Greensboro next week. I could pull my boat and get a day in on one lake. I am interested in which lake you would pick, which Technique you would use? Not fished many lakes, especially these. Hoping for crappie but any good fight is fun. What ramp or marina would you suggest to launch at? Any specific rules or regulations for them?

Randleman is closed starting Nov 1 except Friday,Saturday and Sunday. If i'm reading their schedule correct. Water surface temp is 66 degrees tonight at High Rock. There are two ramps off of highway 8 south of Lexington. One off of Holloway Church road which is in a wind protected cove (Buddle Creek) and one at Southmont which has direct access to the river. No size limit or creel limit on HR.

Thanks to all who replied. I really hope to get out and try high rock. Im about a good two hours from the lake normally. If I can figure out the lake and catch a few, I could make the trip later. Just don't make much time to fish and hate to waste half the day driving. But if there's fish I will try it again. I am closer to Sharon Harris and I need to try there. Wonder if the fish glow at night from nuclear runoff? If so maybe I could find them then?

If you are closer that way got to Jordan and fish at Ferrington point and fish double minnows vertical around the bridge. Smaller numbers of fish but a lot bigger fish.
