    Default Annual Spring Crappie vacation

Took some time off last week and made my annual trip to visit friends and family in Rowan County. We started off Thursday morning at Badin and caught a few but the action was not fast and furious like it usually is. About 930 we put the boat on the trailer and headed to High Rock. Made it about 1/2 way there when I looked back to see all of our long rods missing. The stud had broken off and dumped our rods onto Stokes Ferry Road. We back tracked and located the mess on the side of the road. We would up casting at High Rock and found the dock fish very willing to cooperate. It is nice to see the HR average size creeping up. Friday we went back and got back into them although in the creek we fished Friday the size average was smaller. Shady spots were the key on these docks. We kept about 40 over 2 days and was blessed with beautiful weather.

I have notified the manufacturer of the racks to bring this defect to their attention.

The manufacturer of the racks responded in an hour or so willing to assist in this matter. Very impressive. Now it's back to SE North Carolina crappie fishing until July.

Glad you got your gear back. And you caught fish, too!
