Nice report and looks like a great night fishing. Nice pics. I know you had fun.
I started out fishing the river Sunday evening for catfish with plans to go to Harris Sunday night for my first night fishing trip of the year. Fished the river for a few hours and managed a 20 lb flathead but not the blues I was looking for. I left there and headed to Harris @ 7:30. I took my catfishing gear along since I still had some bait to use. Started fishing around dark and the crappie started cooperating right away! Most of them were small 5-7inch fish but I was able to get @ a dozen keeper sized fish. After messing with the small crappie for a while, I decided to do a little catfishing and thats when my night got BUSY! I was catching 2-4 lb cats as quick as I could get my hook baited and back in the water. Then as I was ready to head home, one of my rods bent double, and when I set the hook, I knew right away that this was a HOG! Did I mention I was by myself........After @ a 10 min fight, I somehow managed to get the fish to the boat and net it. 32 lb blue cat!! This was my first attempt at catfishing Harris and it won't be my last! Everything was caught in @ 12 FOW on a main lake point tight on the bottom.
Nice report and looks like a great night fishing. Nice pics. I know you had fun.
That's a lot of nuggets right there!
Nice blue ,Did you catch the flathead by pole or tree line. I fished harris and had pleny of the 2 -3 pound cats.
Nice work there Matt. You told me Saturday that you were going to hit the Cape Fear and Harris... and now I not only see that you did...
but you made a good showing too. I would have loved to have been there and seen you catch that big boy.
Great report and pictures!!! Thanks for sharing your day and night with us.
