    Default trailer alignment

The simplest way to do it is to take a tape measure and measure from the outside u bolt in each side to the tip of the tongue and see what it measures. It should be darn close to the same measurement. If not, then the axle is out of line. You can loosen the u bolts and move the axle with the slop in the dowel pin holes on the axle. I bet you the tire with the outside cupping is closer and the one with the inside cupping is further back. We "wrench turners" call this condition "dog tracking".

    Default trailer tires

Let us know what you find. Too many people ask for advice and then don't post what they find and that defeats the whole purpose. good luck with it!!

I had a trailer that kept doing that and had to have the axle replaced

the trailer people told me if the trailer hit a pot hole or had a hard bump

sometimes it does not take much to bend the axle on them.

it was blowing tires every few 100 miles .

after they replaced the axle i have not had another flat and that has been several thousands of miles. cost $150 to have the axle replaced and at

$100 something per tire it is worth it.

    Default Tire prob. follow up

OK...so far I have measured from u bolts on axle to middle of tounge...only 1/8 inch difference. I hung a weighted string by the tire and both tires lean in about 1/4 inch on top which is probably weight of boat and shouldn't make tires wear differently like they are. Called Firestone and he's calling Carlisle to check on warranty (fat chance) and had no suggestions except to check for play in bearings. Could bearings do this? I put new bearings in right before I put the new tires on. Going to jack it up today and check for play with both wheels off ground. Beginning to befuddle me..........
