Got out to state pond today in Stueben county. Bank fishing and only caught 4. 2 6 and 2 10 inch gils. After trying all usual locations finally got them close to the bank near the weeds. My waxies that I left in basement in March didn't survive, too warm I think. Ordered new but they won't ship til it cools off. Tried gulp leeches, crappie nibbles but only bites were on garden worms. Will try differnt pond in Bath tomorrow and then start hitting finger lakes next week with boat.

Hit the pond in Bath NY yesterday and could only use 1 pole, they were hungry. Gulp leeches, fake waxies, small poppers and worms. Hit 90` by noon so I was cooked. All gils, but saw a few Bass swimming the shorelines. Nice day for sure, got home and went thru my gear/tackle boxes to be ready to start using boat next week. Good times ahead!
