Thread: Struggling!

After a great June between the wind rain and just dismal weather July was horrible! Hardly got out and then it was bank or pond fishing! Have not caught a Crappie yet out of Lamoka and very few perch. A few more weeks then put everything up and head south for the winter. Going to haul jon boat home and sell/trade it and spare 25hp for 40-50 hp tiller with electic start and TILT/TRIM!

Went on 8-3 and after visiting with a friend who is in the middle of building new house at the Lake (finally) and saying goodbyes for the summer really got into the good size gils just 2 coves up from him. Started in front of church camp swimmimg area thinking with all the activity from the kids that the fish might be active. Lots of small fish so moved up to next cove. Finally got some perch and even a few rock bass. Got all the decent size gils I wanted to clean for a friend who is laid up and can't get out, then the jet skiers/pleasure boats drove me off the lake around 3. Had such a good time Grandson/I will go today after the fog lifts. Will be the last time with him til next year. Looking forward to him running the boat and being the Capt. next year and it won't be long til he is hauling the boat, backing in/out and letting the old guy just FISH! Life is GOOD! Lots of memories for the winter and looking forward to next year.
