    Default Omaha crappie

Hey guys I'm moving to omaha with in the next year from central nebraska. I'm wondering about the crappie fishing opportunities in omaha. I'm mostly a walleye guy but will fish more crappie after the move. What do I need to get started? Any crappie in beaver lake at plattsmouth? Tia for any help

Beaver lake has great Crappie in it. Probably the best fishing around this end of the State. It is a private lake and have to own property there to use the lake. It has decent Walleye in it also. EB

Some of the lots and houses aren't too bad depending on how close to the water you want to be. Lots on the main lake are around $120,000 just for the lot. Some of the bigger houses are around 1 Mill or more.
You can catch Crappie with jigs or minnows. They seem to bite better for me using a marabou jig and mostly Chartruese or at least have some Chartruese in the jig somewhere either jig head or tail. The Crappie will average around 11-12 inches. They run in cycles. One year it will take 10 fish to get a keeper and then, some years just about every fish is a keeper. The Crappie have to be 10 inches to keep on Beaver Lake.
Need more info just ask. EB
