    Default Winterizing boat

I took the boat into the shop this morning to get it winterized and checked over and ready for next Spring. I take the boat for storage next Sat morning. It will be stored inside over the winter. I will get it out of storage the first Saturday in April. The new lakes should be open then. EB

Took the boat's down and put it in storage this morning. I will go back and get it the first Saturday in April. We can testify to the crossing the chains under the tongue of the boat or any trailer. My friend has his boat in the same place as I do. We travel together incase one of us has any trouble. Then I back his boat into the shed for him. His wife hooked his boat to the ball on the back of their Jeep. She didn't get the hitch all the way on the ball and about half way down to storage his boat came off the hitch and was lucky enough we had to slow down to go through a small town. When he stepped on the brake the boat jumped up in the air and then down to the ground and then just started whipping from side to side. He was lucky that he got it stopped before it did too much damage. The tongue hit the back of the bumper and dented it a little but was really lucky it didn't come off the Jeep. EB

Bad enough to have to take the boat to winter storage but to have that happen on the way to the storage site is like pouring salt in the wound to me. Glad there was little damage done.

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

I'm with Jimp. I've been lucky so far. A friend and I went to launch his boat, a 20' w/200, and a little bit after we left the driveway I told him that we needed to check the connection. No chains or lights and the hitch was just set on the ball and not closed. Could've been bad. Glad yours wasn't worse.

That is why I always hook my boat up myself so I wouldn't have anyone to blame but me! EB

Beav, you need to get your boat out in March. Remember, you were low on fish this year. Tom & I would be disappointed if we came all that way and you didn't have enough fish.

    Does Poxy fish??
