    Default One last slab today...

The good Lord allowed me to get one last ice fish in and a 12.5" slab. I got on the lake @23degrees and got off at 52. The lake is quickly decinigrating! Name: uploadfromtaptalk1394387867312.jpg

Quite an assortment you caught. I am getting a little anxious to get the boat home and ready to go. I am charging the batteries in the garage now so they will be ready to go when I get the boat here. I have the license for the trailer and registration for the boat already to put on it. Then just have to take the boat down to the lake and get it registered at the lake. These mid and upper 60 degree days are making me more anxious. EB

Forgot to ask but how thick is the ice yet? When the ice started pulling away from the bank, we use to use an extension ladder to reach the ice to get another day or two of fishing in. EB

EB@Standing Bear the ice was 6-7". I found a narrow 2x4ft strip to launch on as the shorline was very thin to open in many areas. However, there was only a small % of open water on the main lake. Sounds like you're all set for the open water from the boat. I still need to prep my vessel! BTW, I like the ext. ladder idea. HAPPY FISHIN!

Has always seemed like to me the last few days of ice produce good fishing and it is alway nice to be able to ice fish without completly freezing. What lake was this?
