Thanks, Whip. I may have to visit my brother in Fortine this summer and see if I can find some crappie. Maybe I'll run into you up there. Do you use mostly plastic, or do you also use hair and feather?
I just got back from Lake Carl Blackwell, with 25 crappie, mostly 11"-13" and one 15"er. They liked a pink/green jig. Minnows were working for most of the people at the dock. Last week we tore 'em up trolling cranks, mostly Bandit 200's or 300's, Normans, and Wiggle Warts. Do you guys ever troll cranks? If not, try trolling at about 1.0-1.5 mph.

I fish a local guys tackle, Chancy's Crappie Candy and Big eye spinner Jigs. I here he is starting to do cranks baits for Crappie his Walleye and Bass are awesome, so I think his Crappie cranks will be great. Crappie are in about 50 lakes in the area and hear some of the lakes are producing 2#+ crappie.
