Gary, you and Sue will have to come visit sometime. They takeoff and land over our property. I've seen them thousands of times and I still stop what I'm doing to watch them. The F22 Raptors are a sight too.

We had helicopter fly down the channel last Friday over us in the Tebo arm. It was low. It had to pull up when it got to the bridge. Some type of fighter copter. It was pretty neat.

You will see a LOT of planes and copters on Friday and Saturday, Whiteman is having their Air Show on Saturday. The copter that was following the lake channel is usually a National Guard doing a low-level run, they can't do that on private ground but on the Corp that's another story.

When I grew up we lived about 6 miles south of Whiteman near Turkey Kearns conservation area. It was always exciting around air show time. Bulletman have you been around Windsor long? Most of my family still lives there.

One of my favorite things about fishing around Truman is looking for the jets and helicopters out of Whiteman. More than likely it was was a AH-64D Apache helicopter. A couple of years back saw 2 KC-135 tankers refueling 8 military jets heading west that was coolest thing I have saw, wish i took a picture of it.

When I was a lad, we went to MTL and I was fishing in the boat with my Grandpa and Grandma, and an F15 or one of its' predecessors came Ripping down the lake just over our heads so low it seemed like it was just over the treetops. It was so close it disturbed the surface of the lake. Couldn't hardly hear it as is approached going who-knows how fast, but when it passed... WHAT a roar. It was incredible. We heard and saw several more planes that day, but none that low or that seemed to be going so fast.

Grandpa asked a couple of people what the Sam Hill was that all about, and found out the Air National Guard was practicing bombing runs, using the Clarence Cannon dam as the target.

Wish I had a pic of my face when it happened!
I remember Grandma wasn't too happy at all, but I'll never forget it.

If you think the flyovers are impressive, you should see them in action. U-tube has a lot of videos showing just how bad they can mess up a Taliban's day.

    Jiggin',

I've been in and around Windsor almost all my life, grew up half-way between Turkey Kearn and the High School,,,,,,,,we prolly know each other.

I live in Windsor now, work in Sedalia.

An the low level runs those A-10 Warthogs put on my truck is cool, as long as they don't have any live ammo. You will see a pair of them cruising along on a tangent to your course and they will in unison make a turn and come across your bow, and you KNOW that your truck hood is in their gunsite!
