Cool Picture!
We were at my office in KCK watching the Blue Angels practice for the air show and were SEVERAL miles from where they're flying.
You can see these specks in the air doing things...but they're just so far away.
So I'm watching them and they do some stunt or another and I'm watching one (broadside) but then it turns so I'm looking at it edgewise and it just disappears!
So I'm trying to find it again when, in like what couldn't have been two seconds it is RIGHT ABOVE ME, followed by a deafening sound. And I get to thinkin, "Is this a great country, or what?!?!!!"
Can you imagine one of those Taliban's sitting six miles away thinkin', "Yeah, I think I'm pretty safe....I'm clear over here!"
Game Over.
The day before the slealth flew over - there were a couple of jets buzzing the Long Shoal area - at one point they dropped something into the air that looked like sparklers - I told Mrs JJ they were putting on an early 4th of July celebration for us - at one point they flew so low we could see through the cockpit - not sure what they were but it was awesome to watch - makes me proud to be an American! And thankful for those who serve our great country.
when i was serving in iraq, we got a 2 week r&r in the states and they flew us out of baghdad airport in some big air force jet. when it took off they made a sharp turn and started firing flares. that scared me worst then being on the ground getting shot at.
