Default Headed South to Chase Crappie

Some of you know, fishing is my passion! I've fished in other countries and states around the US and islands off both coasts. Fly fishing, deep sea fishing, bass, crappie, catfish or blue gill... I love fishing! Over the week of Thanksgiving my co-angler and I are headed to Lake Fork to chase some slabs and maybe some Largemouth as well.

Has anyone from here gone down there? Any tips or suggestions for that lake? We will be staying at the Minnow Bucket Marina. We cannot wait for that week to get here!

Now why didn't I think of this? I hope they are more open to helping than those on FB. I've been given great tips, but you know how it is, everyone thinks you want their honey hole.

Fished Fork a long while back for Bass. I'd say get a guide day one then fish on your own.

I think you can expect crappie to be fairly deep and close to creek channels. It can be a tough nut to crack in the fall. Guides are killing them right now. Check Jerry Hancock Fishing (Jerry Hancock). Find The Fish (Jordan Sanders) or Gary Paris on Facebook. They are all good about posting specifics on daily catches.

I would definitely get a guide first day and they can give you the 411 on the lake and how to fish it.

I'm on FB with a couple of guides down there and they are killing em right now.

The pictures I've seen coming in from Lake Fork is why I decided to head that way. Yes I know Grenada in MS is home to some whoppers as well. Accommodations around Lake Fork have much more to offer and less traveling back and for to a hotel. Fortunately a guy down there has offered to help me out the first day. I know it's fishing and will treat it like any other day on Truman... A bad day of fishing is better than the very best day at work!
