I have the 106sv, it's big enough but I would buy the 12 inch screen if I had to do it over again. I put another battery in my boat just for the Livescope, just didn't want to worry about it draining my cranking battery while I'm fishing. :biggrin

Forgot to talk about this part earlier. I have everything but my trolling motor running off my cranking battery currently. I haven't gone on any ALL day trips yet but so far so good. I put in a Duracell group 31 AGM battery. 800 CCA/105AH/1000 Cranking Amps. So far it's been a beast. I do have a perko switch on my boat though incase I drain it too much I can jump from the trolling motor batteries.
It probably wouldn't hurt anything to have it's own battery if you have the room. On my last boat it had it's own battery but like I said so far so good on this new one.
1222 touch, yes get you an Amped outdoors battery just for LS.
You can thank me later. LOL

Had a 106 for two years now, if had to replace it might go different route but very pleased in general and I feel like I’ve been lucky given the problems many have had. But my goal was to raise the unit to get an expanded view. Is a 10” raised 18 inches as good as a 12” sitting closer to the deck? But one caveat, consider if you are restricting your view while running. Am really concerned with all the paraphernalia that is on some boats, always gives me pause when meet one in a narrow area.
While fishing at Truman today I talked to a CDC member that was prefishing for Crappie Masters. He showed me how his Livescope was set up. The greatest thing I saw, and this is what drew me over to his boat, was a unique and heavy built transducer pole. As we talked, he told me he owns the company that makes it. See-Lite is the name of the company. Look it up and look at the transducer pole. I am going to order one before I install my Livescope.

I did order battery holders for my Makita power tool lithium batteries to power the Livescope.
