We were down at the cabin a couple weeks ago working on the food plot for the weekend
Hadn’t seen a snake the time in the woods
We went back to cabin to start a campfire n have a few brews . Took off my snake boots and set up the lawn chairs and were just getting the fire started when I looked off to right of my chair towards the wood pile and HOLY CRAP!!!!!!
This guy was just crawling right up the gravel bout 20 ft from me Sneaky snake at the cabin[emoji51]Sneaky snake at the cabin[emoji51]
So I jump up and run to the cabin to grab my shotgun and get back and shoot him

That will get the blood pumping lol
Got him skinned out and dried the skin

This is the first rattlesnake I’ve ever shot
    Only ever seen 2 before

WOW!!! That's a big one that would have left a mark and surely changed the whole outcome of your peaceful trip to the cabin, no doubt.
I don't usually kill snakes... even poisonous ones... but when they're too close to an area with people moving around... it's a different story.

They won't bother you if you don't bother them, won't attack you unless you are too close, self defense.
Just eat rodents, etc., makin' a living like us. I leave them alone, move away if I see one.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.
