Some folks have phobias. Snake have never bothered me .Under crawl spaces and such i'm not real fond of a spider...always same reaction from me as I kill them on sight.I'm sure some spider lovers would argue.
Any how with a forked stick it's real easy to hold down a snake's head to get a grip behind the head so you can admire the rascal.Round pupils means he's harmless and non-poisionous...turn em loose.Otherwise if the pupils are diamond shapped he will also have pits between the nostrils and the eye.All of our poisionous snake in Missouri are pit vipers...while holding him with one hand I always reach for my knife and convert him into a two piece snake. No big deal.Yes I'm sure there are snake lovers who would tell me my thinking is flawed. But that's just me.
A friend has a phobia about baby birds that is pretty serious....That suprises me.

I so not kill Snakes, never have never will, they do a lot of good out here in the country, I have on occasion moved snakes from the timber to the barn for rat control works every time.

    Hey Beagle ,
Got to thinking about your motor repair. How in the world did a snake get access under your motor cowling? Normally they would not have any source of entry.Has me wondering.
