    Default House alarm system recommendations

Well some low life broke into our other little house that son and daughter in law use when they come out to visit overnight. Didn’t make a mess but rummaged through stuff and stole some ammo and rangefinder that son had left there. No guns were in the house. Except for a tv that is the only thing that would have been of value to them. So we are looking for an alarm system for our house. Does anyone have one that you like?

I hear some good things about the simplisafe alarm system. Saw where one guy installed outdoors off grid at woodshed because someone was stealing his grandfathers wood.

    Default House alarm system recommendations

I’ve used SimpliSafe for about 5 years. Good system. Same features as ADT but no contracts. As long as you get cell signal, it works. Depending on what service you want, you can have it monitored 24/7 for $14.99 a month up to $24.99 a month. The more expensive service gives you the ability to monitor and control the alarms from you cell phone. Real easy to install. Almost everything is peel and stick. You can customize your own package with door and window contacts, motion detectors, glass break detectors, smoke and water detectors, even cameras. I even get texts when the alarm is armed and disarmed. Each person can have their own code so you know who turned it off
The siren that comes with it is pretty dang loud as well

Thanks. Will check it out. Have WiFi at our house. The other house that was broken into has no phone turned on there and cell phone is sketchy there. May need to look for one that just makes a loud noise for it.

You might be able to rig up wifi or cellular antennae out there to improve service? Be a bonus to your guests, as well, I"m sure!

Wiener dog. Loud, always on duty. Don't mess with the business end.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

I hear great things about simplysafe as well. The one thing I usually tell folks (I'm a property crimes detective) after a burglary is to invest in one or two decent trail cameras. Place them at a location that gets a good shot of everyone coming and going...about waist high gets a great shot of a plate on a car or anyone walking as well as a good face shot of a person in a car/truck.

Also, position one catching the ingress/egress location at the house/building. These two items are awesome evidence and just so you change batteries and sim card once in a while, it gives law enforcement a leg up on the investigation on the get go.
I believe in catch and release.....right into the grease!!!!!
