    Default Oil question???

My 4 stroke Mercury takes 10W-30 oil. I have been using Mercury oil but gonna use Quicksilver this time just a lil cheaper. I have some Mercury left over so can I mix that in with the Quicksilver??? I just don't want to waste about a quart of perfectly good oil and combined with a gallon it will be just enough. I know Quicksilver and Mercury are pretty much the same thing so this might be a stupid question

I think you will be fine as long as the two are same viscosity. There is usually a code of numbers and letters that says this is such and such. Like with two stroke it says twc3 or simular. I had issues with mixing 80-90 wt. once and a friend showed me the matching letter number on the bottles.

I would sure do some research, if both are 4 stroke oil they should be the same but just double check because some of that oil is blended for oil injection systems and not comparable with 4 stroke oil. Not worth messing up a motor over the cost of a quart of oil.
