There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

Those who have not been on a deer stand in the dark and got to watch the sun come up have missed one of the finer things in life.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

That's what it's all about to me. I could care less about killing the deer

So much more to enjoy about hunting than killing an animal for sure Hogster! Love the sun rising while in a deer stand especially and the woods coming to life around you.

I don’t get any better than being in a stand and watching the world wake up. Laura had a small buck in front of her at 25 yards Sunday morning but just couldn’t get a shot. She said the deer could probably hear her heart pounding. It would have been her first one. She was disappointed she didn’t get the shot but I told her the rush she felt was the best part. Harvesting the deer was secondary.

Tell her to keep after them Speck. Only one thing better than sitting on stand is getting to share it with our spouse.

Yep I love getting in the stand before daylight. Well except when two bobcats tried to get in the stand with me before daylight or when a owl tried to perch on the front rail of my climber in the dark. lol
