Eating squirrel is fine, I like them.
But..... Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease. Can be transmitted by eating infected squirrel brain. The result is that the victim suffers from memory loss, dementia, psychosis, loss of coordination, and eventually death. Yep, you die. No cure.
Not common, rare actually. Fatal though.
Just sayin'. Don't eat the brain. Just takes one.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

I just moved from a squirrel that would knock on my deck door when the feeder was empty. Now I live where there are some black squirrels. About the size of a grey maybe smaller but threw me for a loop when I saw the first one.

then find you a strech of wooded bottom land and sit under some nut trees they are cutting on. Understand that hills are touch going. last fall when I was having some heart flutters got winded easily and knew a place like that and killed a bunch without going far in on logging road. Operation fixed flutter so I am back roaming hills.

Will clean and even cook them for you if you like that as well. Have a couple of older friends who I do this for as they can't get out in woods anymore and love to eat them.
Probably to far for y’all but I got 40 aces full of them tree rats and you are welcome to come and get them all.
