Default Truman Dam Rated 'Potentially Unsafe' In New Engineering Study

The Corp like all bureaucracies is hard to understand. I read this as saying anything is possible and not our fault if God does something weird. What do you think?

The Harry S. Truman Dam received the assignment of a Dam Safety Action Class (DSAC) 2 Rating. According to the Corps of Engineers, a DSAC 2 Rating is Urgent (Unsafe or Potentially Unsafe) and is characterized as “Failure Initiation Foreseen or Very High Risk.”

I think all dams have a potential to be unsafe, not to worried about it but I live upstream.

Thought it was odd when I read it. Seems like you could say that about all dams.

Would definitely be a disaster with all the homes below it all the way to the Mississippi. Ain't no way Bagnel could hold it all

There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

"Potentially" ANYTHING could happen. At ANY time. Potentially.

The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

Potentially it could just be bureaucratic politics. It isn't unheard of for different divisions in a bureaucracy to compete for funds. Like I say I struck me as odd and would like the "inside" story.

Our Govm't. dollars at work. Mostly "CYA", just in case. I'll bet there is a similar report on every Corps. dam.

The reason this is relevant to us is it could be used to keep the lake below an optimal recreation pool?
