    Default Well dang it.

Last evening hubby had a wreck coming home from work. He wasn't hurt and neither was other driver. He was headed out of town and a lady coming from a Dollar General pulled out and hit him on the driver rear wheel. She told the police that she had asked her grown daughter if it was clear to pull out and she said yes. She hit him hard enough to spin the truck and he hit the side of a bridge over a ditch. Luckily the school bus coming from the other direction avoided the wreck. I guess a bright red truck isn't visible. I know it was just an accident but aggravating. If it was just the dent in the bed and flat tire it wouldn't be bad but messed up bumper, hood and front fender when he hit the side of the bridge. It is a 2000 GMC and afraid they are going to total it. It was our old clunker that we used on the farm and hubby drove to work to keep miles off of other vehicles. If frame is Ok we don't need the rest perfect. It has lots of rust but still ran good. That is why it was our knock around truck. Will really miss that truck if we cant get it fixed. Lots of memories with that truck. I know that probably sounds weird. Oh well. Waiting to be contacted by the ladies insurance adjuster.

I'm sorry for your husbands wreck and happy no one was injured. If they do total it, negotiate the value of the truck then tell them you want to keep the truck as well. That happened to my 63 Chevy pickup years ago. It was a show truck, metal flake paint, custom wheels, built 327 etc. The insurance tried to just pay me for a 1963 pickup. Luckily, I kept all the receipts from everything I did to it. They went ahead and paid me what my truck was worth and still let me keep the truck.
