Default Biting black flies in canada help

Does anybody have an idea on how to keep them away? They were bad last year. Bit through socks and pants. Used Deep Woods Off and Repel. That would only last maybe 15 minutes and they were back. Very aggravating. Hubby gets vacation through July 4 so we are stuck with that time frame.

Not sure how safe it is, but we cover the boat interior in a product made for horse barns. Can’t remember the name, but it works better than anything I’ve ever tried.

permethrin? You spray this on your clothes and let it dry so you'll want to prep before your trip. Should last the entire week you're in Canada. You'll probably want to treat several outfits so you don't have to wear the same clothes every day. Hats, socks and shoes, too.

Amazon.com: Sawyer Products SP657 Premium Permethrin Clothing Insect Repellent Trigger Spray, 24-Ounce: Sawyer: Sports & Outdoors

I would also apply picaridin to exposed skin like hands and neck and it's up to you how close you want to get it to your eyes, ears, nose and mouth.

    Amazon.com : Sawyer Products SP564 Premium Insect Repellent with 20% Picaridin, Lotion, 4-Ounce : Sports & Outdoors

Read the reviews...some of those folks have used this way more than I ever have, and in harsher conditions, so...

You can then use the deet on top of that and should hopefully find your trip more enjoyable next year!

Used skin so soft with good results. Also another vanilla scented product I have to remember (may be awhile) lol.
