    Default composit bunk boards

I put them on the trailer today, man them things are slick, had to zip tie them to the braces to hold them on while I drilled and screwed them on, sure hope they last, the last wooded ones I put on couple years ago had already rotted the third set in 6 years, so maybe no more replacements in my near future. Have any of y'all ever tried them, did I make a mistake. Hope not.

You will have to tie boat down really well and check the winch rope and make sure it isn’t old or knicked up
Hope you don’t forget to hook up before you are on any incline
I don’t know about the new composite boards but they used to sag bad if support was much over two feet
But they do last many years

It might seem a bit odd, but I have been considering replacing my boards with composite, but still wrapping in carpet. That way the friction is the same, but no more boards to replace.

    Any thoughts?

My old neighbor built a deck with composite lumber. Two years later he sued the company because they were splintering! Good luck!

Don’t unhook the strap until the boat is in the water! Sure makes loading and unloading easy. I had them on my old Tracker and would back in far enough where I didn’t have to step in the water, unhook the strap and could just push the boat off holding the rope if the ramp had much slope to it at all.

Like everyone has been saying make sure your winch strap is in good condition and kept on, had to help a person in Mississippi put his boat back on trailer ( it slid off backing down ramp at engineer's point , no carpeting) beside's that I think there great , with carpeting.
    I Don't Know,but I can always use help

If you can cover with carpet sounds like the ticket. Long as it doesn't slide and squirm around.

The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

well put the boat on the trailer yesterday, easy as easy can be, strapped the boad down fore and aft rode home just fine, needed to grease the motor, change the oil and filter, you know all that couple times a year stuff. check lower end, get the road salt and extra clothes in the boat.

Someone told me that if you ever do treated lumber make sure it is CCA. Some other kinds will eat your carpet staples...that's just what I heard. Haven't had to change out the bunks on my new trailer but my last I did CCA treated wrapped with carpet.
