    Default Pontoon Cleaning

Anybody have anything good that will work to clean the pontoon logs on our boat?!? Don't want to use anything that could potentially harm the metal. It's pretty clean right now, but does have a faint line from when I'm sitting and fishing or trolling... want to keep that as limited as I can and prevent it from becoming really bad. Thanks in advance!

Alum a Brite at the local parts store. Works wonders. It is an acid so careful and read directions. Used it on a Bass Tracker made it look new.

There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

I have used Alum a Brite on a couple boats but mainly on 20' aluminum goose neck horse trailer several times . Yes it does a great job and I completely agree with reading the directions and following as it is a low % of Hydrafloric acid (HF). We use HF in higher concentrations where I work and completely abide by always wearing PPE(gown, face mask, goggles, suit, and gloves). If you read the material safety data sheet(MSDS) it will tell you HF has the ability to penetrate your skin, desolve calcium from your bones and induce a heart attack . Does not have reaction on the outer skin as some other acids.I am not telling you this to scare you but just to warn you to follow the directions......Another safer cleaner sold at wally world is a product called "hull brite"in the boating section. I bought Totally Awesome but have yet to try it.Be careful and good luck....
