If you are on a private pond, it doesn't necessarily have to be registered. Once you get on any public water, it does have to be.

    Default getting title/reg. for canoe

It is the same way for kayaks. I have started selling kayaks at the store. All of them have a HIN etched in them and come with a paper we fill out so the buyer can take it to the dmv. It also is used for them to register it with the companies that make them for the warranty. I know with a used 2 man plastic boat I had to have it inspected by a county deputy to run the numbers to verify it was not in the system as being stolen. After about 4 trips to dmv for forms that the sherif filled out I finally got it done. Much easier on a new boat.

Beagle you should check out the NuCanoe Frontier 12 kayaks. It’s like a 12’ canoe but much more stable. We have sold several of them now with a extra seat so two people can be out in them.
Yesterday I sold one with two seats. We swapped out the NuCanoe seats for Millennium seats and added a quick release and swivel. Plus I rigged it with a battery box, MinnKota 55 lb thrust motor, extension handle for the motor and a BlackPak. Cool set up.

The one I sold today was sold with a bow mount plate to mount a Terrova trolling motor on the front. It has a wiring kit to run wires to the back for the battery/battery box.

If you have a way that you can mount a standard swivel they will work. Lots of guys replacing the seats with the Millennium fishing seats like most guys have for spider rigging.

Missouri has some of the most stringent titling and licensing laws anywhere, most states around us aren’t as complex. I understand the need to protect against boats that are stolen or are come by illegally. But if you’re the one with a legal boat it’s usually multiplie contacts with state officials. Many Missouri residents get caught buying a boat, engine, or trailer without a title or registration from another state. When a seller says “oh it’s just a small boat, it doesn’t have a title”,,,,,run!

Those are sweet boats. A buddy of mine bought one a couple years ago for duck hunting small sloughs. He loves it.

They even have a layout blind for them. Pretty cool for the duck/geese guys to get year round use out of them.

Don't forget to renew when it you get it, dummy me let mine run out on the boat. Went to dmv Sat. morning figuring to be on the water this morning, what was I thinking, it's never that easy. For some reason my boat didn't show up on 2017 taxes but was on 2016 ,heading to assessor Monday.
