Prayer Request getting title/reg. for canoe

It is not as simple as it might seem, went through the MSHP inspection, boat was clear, no record on the vin. so far so good, Take form to license bureau, Lady does her thing, computer wont accept her code, she calls Jeffernson City, they tell her what to do, bingo computer spits out the paper work,,, I pay, go home, 7 days later I get letter, Nope not going to issue title. need bill of sale, price, year of boat, bla, bla, Well I call, and talk to a Lady she tells me that they should not have said boat, but canoe, so she told me what to do, I did it, hope it works, Life aint easy for a boy named beagle.

I have a canoe that I bought without a title 45 years ago. I don't think I can get a bill of sale on it. Why do you need a title for a canoe?

I am going to put a trolling motor on it, and well the law says it has to be reg. and numbered.

They need to change that, I was going to put a troller on a pond hopper until I found out you had to register it.

    Crap!
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

Yep, any vessel that’s propelled by any kind of motor has to be registered. Even if it’s a trolling motor. There really should be an exception for canoes imho

what if you are putting a 14 foot jon boat on a private pond with a trolling motor does it have to be registered? i didn't think so but maybe i need to check into that. i have been doing that for 20 years and never given it a second thought that i was doing something illegal.
