Thank you to Everharts and Jigging15 for the donation of the rod and hat that brought $90.00 at the silent auction. Thank you to JoeDog, Richard Campbell, James and Janet Bachnick, Bo Thomas, and Mr. and Mrs. CrappieCurt for the donation without fishing in the tournament. Thank you to Winner Choice Awards in Cameron, MO for the donated plaques. Thank you to Harold Coons, Ty Shanks, Tim Shanks, Karlie Shanks, Ed Shanks, and Brian "Bigby" Vickers for participating in the big fish tournament. This morning I mailed a $300.00 check to the Simon and Anne Schupp family who have a 4 year old daughter that is facing a brain condition. Every little bit helps those folks/families in need! Dad would have been proud as always.
This year we had a smaller than usual tournament. Next year, from the advice of some other crappie.com members, we will plan on a two day tournament Friday and Saturday where you can weight your biggest fish for two days. Bigby has voluteered to help out and collect entries as he is at camp all week. You can always pre-mail your entry to me too. With the two day deal those folks that just make it down on Saturday can join in the fun as well! All of the proceeds go/have went to great causes! The "tournament" makes for a little extra fun and for bragging rights at camp (or within our family)! Brian "Bigby" Vickers weighted in a 1 lbs. 6 oz. crappie to take top honors on Friday. Tim "TinyTim" Shanks and I each weighted in a 1 lbs. 3 oz. crappie to tie for second place. Important to note that Ed Shanks set a personal record on Saturday by catching his first limit of fish...it has taken him 65 years to do so, but he finally got'er done! Nine year old Ty Shanks experienced his first crappie camp....and loved it! The boy is hooked for life!
Again thank you for participating and helping out! Please consider participating next year in the 5th year of the tournament.

Awesome thing you guys have done in memory of one of our favorite crappie camp guys. Glad we could be a little part of it. Next year we "Everharts" plus some of my sponsors will donate some items again for your fundraiser and also be doing some other things for the camp goers. Camp kind of snuck up on me this year between running the store and chasing kids around the sports fields and we did not get done what we were wanting to do. We will make up for it next year
