Default Blue Skeeter Big Crappie Contest at Spring Camp

4th Annual Clifford Shanks "Blue Skeeter" Big Crappie Contest! Friday May 4th @ Spring Crappie Camp! $20.00 per person...all proceeds go to the fight against cancer!

The following organizations or families have received funds from the tournament:

You can mail a pre-entry to Clifford Shanks Memorial Big Crappie Contest, c/o Chris Shanks, 11820 NE Woodridge Lane, Cameron, MO 64429 (if you write a check, make it out to Chris Shanks or the bank gets upset; we are not a 501 c-3)or you can stop by campsite A043 Thursday evening after dark or early Friday morning and sign-up to support “Blue Skeeter” and the ongoing fight against cancer.

WHO WAS CLIFFORD E. SHANKS? Dad was a husband to Karen, father to Chris and Tim, Grandfather to Caleb, Karlie, TJ, and TY, brother to John Edward, best buddy to Harold, and dear friend to many! Dad was an all-around good fellow that left this earth way too soon! Here are a few excerpts from Dad's eulogy:

Dad loved to hunt and fish. I have many, many cherished memories surrounding the great outdoors. Dad was not a trophy hunter or a sport fisherman. His motto was “If it’s brown…it’s down and if you can catch it…you can fry it!” He passed this love of the outdoors onto Timmy and I and onto his grandkids.

Dad was a big man with an even bigger heart! Dad loved all of us! He was never one for hugs and kisses but all those closest to him know that his actions spoke louder than his words. If there is one thing that I have learned over the last month it is to cherish the time that you have with your friends and loved ones! We never know what tomorrow has in store for us. I challenge you to slow down! I promise you that you will never, ever look back and say, “You know I should have spent more time at work.” You only have a finite number of days on this earth, so please spend them wisely.

If you knew Dad...I am sure you would agree! If you did not have the opportunity...I can assure you that many a guy at Crappie Camp has the same character traits! Please come out and fish for a great cause!

Default Blue Skeeter Big Crappie Contest at Spring Camp

Anyone up for a raffle or auction to raise some more money for this? I will be down Friday afternoon/evening with some stuff. Will see what I can come up with. Maybe a 10' Kevin Rogers Jenko dipping rod, a reel of some kind for it and a Jenko hat. I will see what else I can get ahold of. Anyone have a roll of raffle tickets or be available to sell them Friday and Saturday?
