    Default Fellows lake

Hey everyone I'm needing some Intel on fellows lake, I have a kayak that I'm wanting to use there but the area I want to fish is on the opposite side of the lake than the boat ramp, there is conservation department use areas over there but they have locked gates, however you can easily walk around the gates. My question is this, can I carry my yak from those gates to the water? Or are they going to throw a fit about me be in the conservation area? If all else fails I guess I will call the marina and ask them. Just trying to save a little paddling distance!

I'm not sure about Fellows Lake but there is a state lake near my home that has a closed gate on the road going across the dam. We walk around it all the time to fish from the Dam. There's a well worn path from years of use. I've had my fishing license checked there and nothing was ever said about walking in. I think that gate is there to keep vehicles out

Fellows is a city utilities owned lake but parts that border it are conservation, my understanding is that conservation is public land but I don't know for sure

normally a locked gate means stay out, be better to call the office in spg. mo. and ask the ones in the know

I'd not go past a locked gate. Call MDC and get the straight info. Your Conservation Agent in your area should be able to tell you what you need to know or direct you to the info.

The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

I'm almost positive those areas are off limits.

You should check at the marina regarding the fee for putting a boat on Fellows. No idea if they hit a kayak as hard as they do a fishing or play boat. It's expensive. Kinda like Smithville.
Sprangfiel is proud of Fellows. They will also probably be able to tell you about the access areas.
