    Default Water pump replacement

I usually change the pump every year, but I let this one go for 2 years so figured I better replace it before I hit the water this year. Glad I did part of it was missing, probably would have laid down on me at spring camp knowing my luck. Just wondering how often everybody else changes theirs, every year, 2 years or just keep fingers crossed?Name: 20170214_182317.jpg

Change mine every year weather it needs it or not. Just to easy and is good insurance.

There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

Do you change out the entire assembly or just the impeller?

I put a new housing on mine this year, but usually just change the impeller.

I replace the housing about every two or three years Joe. Just depends on if its scratched real bad or not. One of the ramps I put in at on LOZ in the winter can be pretty low and I suck up a little sand once in awhile.

i keep a spare impeller in my boat. Last changed mine in 2008.
I figure I'd better put it in and get another spare.
Old impeller is still shootin' a strong stream. Unlike me.

I would replace it while you are looking. Sounds like you are lucky.

Bought my boat in 2003 had a new one on it then. Replaced it around 2010 just because. Still spitting out 30lbs of pressure so do not know when I will change again. Boat shop says if you use your boat often change not usually needed till weak flow shows up.
