Thread: Lack of Interest, Busy or What?

I been to busy cutting camp wood to fish, or to sick, but as soon as the weather breaks up a bit It's to the brush hole for me,,, I guess I should apologize for causing you so much work at camp loading and un loading the wood I brung you,,, I worked so hard on that I had no time to fish,,, well a little at the pond...

Well I'm just gonna be downright honest and if it upsets some of you then so be it. I'm sorry in advance if it does. I used to be on everyday and post most days. I got a text last week about camp so I came up with my lady friend and saw some old friends and man oh man was it nice to so you guys that know me. I met a couple new people and that was great. I just logged on to see if anyone posted pictures of camp and I had a message from JackB from 10-15-2012 that had never been read so I guess it has been that long since I logged on. (despite the fact that I had not talked, texted, e-mailed, or seen JackB when I pulled into camp there he was walking down the road, the old fella ran around to the drivers side door of my truck, ranked it open and gave me a big old buddy hug, that's the type of friendships that used to go on, on this site) When I joined everyone was so helpful and friendly. I work full time and had a young daughter so if I got to go fishing once in a while I considered myself lucky if I did. Typically no better fisherman than myself and my buddy Sam are and no more than we get to go it was nice to be able to ask for some advice and actually get some real answers back as to where and how to go about fishing a certain lake or area. Most everyone was helpful and I earned a lot of respect for people on this board. I'm just going to go ahead and call him out here....................Monty literally took me under his old cranky butt stinky wing and showed me more and gave me more advice than I could have ever asked for. I know for a fact that several if not many (and I won't call them out) didn't like the fact that he would help me out and put me on fish. And why???? Because those people were consumed with Tournament Fishing and thought I was going to be catching their big fish that they might catch in a tournament or I guess that maybe I would start fishing tournaments and have some sort of advantage. Well to their disappoint, I'm yet to ever have fished any sort of tournament what so ever. And out of respect for Monty showing me good places to fish I never kept any what I would consider your big tournament fish, they were always returned so the serious guys could get their shot at them. The site got tight lipped or I'll even go as far as saying people were flat out lying about where they were fishing. Anyway, I've got nothing to loose stating the facts considering it's been almost 3 years since I logged on. I got my boat out once last year and it has not been out a single time this year so nothing to fear from me. I had three back surgeries last year and a gallbladder removed so I was laid up the better part of the year so not even a chance to go fishing. Been going through the Big "D" the last 8 months and that has consumed a lot of time and money. I haven't even read a thread except for this one and the one about camp and I don't even know the names of most of the new people, doesn't mean I have any issue's with any of you, just means I haven't been on to get to know any of you. Beagle keeps in touch and damn near ran me down a couple of weeks ago when him and Sharon were in town and he drove all the way over to my office to track me down. For that Beagle I am most appreciative, it means a lot to me to have you guys come see me. And speaking of you Beagle, I just want to tell you I'm proud of you. When you got out of your chair at camp and started walking around with no cane or crutch I about fell out of my chair. Congrats to you for working hard at your health and doing what it takes to become more mobile. Honestly you can ask Christina, it brought tears to my eyes to see you moving around so well. Congrats my friend on that, and I'm really serious when I say that I'm proud of you. Hard work and determination is what you put into it my friend.

Anyway, I haven't posted or logged on in three years nor had I even pulled up the website to look at it one time. It felt good to be at camp and see people talking, chatting and helping one another and maybe it's just time when I have time that I get back into it. Maybe if I start paying attention to it again I will see that there has been a change for the better. I got way to long winded here but when you only log on every three years you might as well put it out there. You asked right? I gave a more than honest opinion. I wish the best to all of you. Remember, you asked and I've never been anything but up front and honest. If anyone is offended I hope you get over it and if you don't well then you don't. Sorry, was not my intention to get anyone worked up.
