First, I want to thank Crappie Curt for the great deal on a Millennium Sidekick and meeting me at the ramp this morning to drop it off. Thank you so much sir! I can see many hours of jigging for crappie now that I can move the seat up toward the bow.

Ok the morning started off with us finding a huge school of fish. Just as we get set, these two dude slide in behind us, run up on the bank and start tossing a bait net within a few yards of the school. They scattered like cockroaches after the second toss. Then they pulled out these massive whale hunting rods and proceeded to throw weights designed to get to Davey Jones' locker. UGH we move and find a tree where the fish were more active and biting. I put 4 on the boat in about 40 mins, Amy bagged one and then, the whale hunters moved over near us again.

I really didn't care, our plan was to spider rig, but we decided to jig for them instead. We ended up with 6 keepers in 2 hours, all of them 11-12". No pictures, because it wasn't a limit. LoL I did manage to snap a rod above where they come together. That was #5 - 12" and fat! I had to switch over to my 13' rod, which I'm not fond of and well, then I said it's time to go!

Curt saved my back. Once I have it sorted out, this Sidekick will help me fish for hours.

I should add the weather held out for us, but the water looked like coffee with cream. This might have been why the open water fish were moving around and not biting. I've been in the spot before around this time of year and we put a limit in the boat in a couple of hours. I tried different colors and sizes, the open water fish were just tight lipped.
