    Default LOZ 5/13 - 5/17

The wife and I went to loz for a longer than normal trip to chase the crappie

Day 1 was spent pulling double minnow rigs and double jig rigs in 20 FOW 50 -75 foot of line out and traveling at 1 to 1.5 mph up the little Niangua to the 3.5 MM and back . straight minnows were the choice , ended up with (23) for the day Name: EB06E304-3EC9-4537-9004-7859CF539329.jpeg

Day 2 the wife had a little sickness set in and was not up to boat ride so we just wandered around on the dock which was slow but rewarding. fish were caught on a pendulum actioned bait . if you didn't get bit before it went straight up n down you just kept on repeating until you did . (24) more for freezerName: CF655485-6F29-45D0-B154-F4E1FAB618C8.jpeg

Day 3 started out by pulling cranks up the little Niangua at 1.5 mph with 75-100 feet out red craw and clown were colors that fish wanted we had 13 in box and storm rolled in from the west so we went back to dock and wife rode out next 3 hours working the dock over again while I went back for nap (love my rainy nap) , she had us up to 20 by time I returned and helped her with 3 more for a total of (23)

Day 4 we went south down the Niangua towards bridal cave pulling the same cranks at the same speed just pulled baits in 25 foot to adjust for the shallower depths ended up with (23)

Day 5 wife says shes done and leaves me orders to only get (7) more so we end up with a even (100) so out i go at day break and put the cranking rods out heade back up the little doing the same o same o and get my 7 and back at dock by 800 Name: E6CD7E95-BC1A-4E99-BCAC-7929FEAD65C2.jpeg

WTG speck in turning those pics right side up, sometimes we don't get it right when we take them.

Great time for you and the wife kurt nice work. Guess we now know who is the real fisherperson in the family! Tho we both would of been in taking the rainy afternoon naps in our family.

Need for you two to give me some lessons on how to pull rigs and cranks behind the toon. I am ready to give that a try on my home lake.

Good report thanks to you both.

Wow. Great job and report. Thanks. We spent 2 weeks there and caught about the same amount. Off the dock only. Most were males. The last 2 days the weather warmed up and the ladies finally showed up. We did fine but not like last year.

    Sounds like a nice trip.
I’m looking forward to learning to pull cranks. Haven’t made the investment in lures yet….yeah yeah, I know. $500 here, $1000 there, but won’t spend $1 on bait. I’m that guy.
I have still have some rattling traps from when I was a kid. Burns me up to loose lures.
