    Default October trip multi tasking

Always love getting out in October when so many seasons open and great time to go to my cabin. My buddy took a friend and hit my favorite fishing spot on t hill got there late after leaving LSL after cooling new recipe for crappie I saw and was big hit w my group. Then wonderful pontoon ride with best buddy and my wife before heading up. Hit my spot about 5 ketchn quite a few but only 2 worth keeping.

Hit the woods next morning and killed 7 squirrels and two doves jumped up while crossing corn field dropped both with 1 shot. LUCKY. Had covey of quail jump up all around me but season not open I thought. Then turkey busted up but it was tom and left him for spring. Deer around me quite a bit so practiced stalking on them for season coming up.

Went back to my spot and 2 locals were on it and they had done well. Going to come back later hopefully more will move in.

After cutting grass and few maintenance chores did get back for hour and did good jetchn 5 keepers 9 to 12.5 inches on same jig in brush at 8 fow. Amazing using same one when there is brush all over and getting hung up continuously but I kept wiggling it off. Same jig from night before so that is crazy.

Went back and had buddy from Peoria I've gotten to know who gives me fishing reports so I had him over and fried up 3 young squirrels. Man he hadn't had any for 20 years and tore into them. Nice to share your harvest with friends.Name: 20211017_190556.jpg

Great report and pics. Love it. And yeah, eat them squirrels. We got a ton down here and I just call them flea feeders! Hate'm. Well, I hate when there are so many, they need thinning out IMHO.

That is one heck of a mixed back there. Land, sea and air.

Nice - Covey of quail is like finding a four leaf clover in MO. Man I miss the days when there were quail everywhere!

I would do it for you slab if I was there in season. Bet Bymo would take a few out for you if you want.

Oh I did a lot more than I posted! LOL took care of some neighbors chores, took bags o crappie to several and lots of folks stop in to visit.

After my quad bypasses last year and dying couple times on operating table feel lucky to be back doing what I love and getting out and about. So blessed.
