    Default Daylight crappie run

Headed north to meet up w buddy who couldn't go w guys day before. Hit the water about 8 30 and like day before it was ON!

Took a whole to figure pattern but when I did it really took off. Lots of solid keepers and then a big thump and a 2.6+ hit the net. Best part was if we found shade we found crappie so we stayed cool too.. 8 foot down in 10 fow. Jigs with minnow trailers mostly only because guys had used minnows day before. Then just used nibbles w jigs white chartreuse in minnow minder. Another great day on the water. Definitely worth the trip.

Get back at em in morning. Name: 20210616_152110.jpeg

What if the big fish were caught first? Would you throw them back if it started slow?

actually I don't keep those biguns in my home lake where you don't see them as frequently but in this one they have been ketchn them regularly.

I might put the fish in the livewell just long enough to get my camera set up and then would absolutely have released it. I'm not condemning anyone for keeping a nice fish. I'm just always curious as to why. I personally don't think they are as good to eat and they are certainly harder to clean than a 10-12 inch fish.

The biologists will tell you that those fish are probably at the end of their life cycles and probably don't have much longer to live. I don't dispute that, but my thoughts are that IF that fish gets a chance to pass on those genetics one more time then maybe we get a stronger population in the future.

PS....That was a nice mess of fish HDHNTR
