Likely getting crickets on this post because the Crappie Masters tournament was last weekend and people tend to get tight-lipped. I made a quick 1 1/2 day hit with my Dad at our cabin over at Twain last week during a whirlwind trip back north for the first time since we moved to NC. I would describe current state as post-spawn transitioning into summer pattern, atleast where we were. Those that know how we fish know that we were wayyyyy far away from any/all traffic.

We spider rigged both days, putting (2) limits of quality fish in the box each day quite quickly......so they cooperated for us.

If you're trying to pull cranks, the hotter the better! Since the crappie spawn can be spread out, their post spawn transitioning will also vary so it really depends on what technique you prefer to employ and/or what you are most confident with. The fish that are just finishing up will likely be moving back out to the mouths of the coves and those that finished earlier should be setting up on the main lake. Personally, up until this past weekend, I would have stuck with rigging however, the crank bite is picking up in certain areas also.

Dad and a buddy crushed them yesterday solely pulling cranks.

I'm always lurking on my Missouri boys, don't you worry about that! I've located the lake down here that I want to spend my time on and am very close to pulling the trigger on my rig...... in the meantime, here's a little teaser. Dad (+1) after a mixture of rigging and cranking. Lost a few real good ones while he was at it. Things are setting up nicely!

You and your dad have the cranking thing down pat! I did it with my buddy who is fixated on it and had some success but I am just too addicted to that thump! Plus being ADD not patient enough to do all that setup. Just give my my pole and one jig and turn me lose coach!
