Default Great day before the artic blast

Normally I would b at t hill turkey hunting but because getting 2nd shot Tuesday stayed home. Weather Tuesday and Wed are going to b terrible cold with snow so wasn't as bummed as I was initially. Then my mark twain buddy was staying home and wanted to go fishing at LSL. We also knew there were going in to banks sometime depending on weather and water temp. We hit lil lake and got into a couple dozen dinks so decided to go to big lake and go out on my pontoon. Another condo fishing buddy went with us and knew places I didn't. Started slow and cruised around showing Cooper the lake. Then we hit a couple places and ketchn dinks so kept hunting. Went to a couple docks i had done well on before and Boom I picked up a 12 incher and couple keepers. Kept moving and Dave picked up another Slab. Cooper is a minnow dude but wasn't getting much action but dinks while we used jigs. I used chartreuse maribu 32nd jig while Dave used blue and chartreuse. Ended up with 6 keepers 9 to 12 inch. Good day with friends.

Finished day tossing to log in 4 fow and had flurry of dinks all with tuxedos on. Fun finish. Probably caught 45 fish mostly dinks but some good filets.Name: 20210419_120415.jpg

Nice Catch - snow here now piling up fast maybe 3 to 4 inches already (like MO Spring Camp) - bet those Toms stick out like a sore thumb in this White Wonderland.

could have killed a couple of toms but held off as I am trying to educate my sons crew about Turkey hunting. Dang it they were not there next day when one of them went there. some gobbling but not a lot of reactions or movement still have hens with them early on and not responding much. course it's a LONNNNNNNGGGG season and those that only hunt first few days miss out on some great action. I am confident in going back next week for some fun. plus the crappie should be on the banks!!
