Day 2 at the cabin

Buddy of a bud who met down at Grenada was told about me and our cabin so wanted to meet up and go fishing. Charlie is my age and super nice guy so he brought eggs from his wife's free range chickens I made us breakfast we hot to know each other and went fishing on his boat. 1920s Era chriscraft runabout he had put trolling motor and kinda set up for fishing but what the heck we chugged out looking for a place out of wind on t hill. Slow going but we went to place I knew of and very calm and we started. He had picked up minnows do we put bobbers on and got a big one on first cast! Then another then Charlie hooked one and It had its colors on. Then it slowed and I picked up several bass and we moved along edges hunting them
I picked up a couple more as we moved but slow. Finally had tree down in water and as he was struggling with positioning boat had him drive right up on it. Dropped minnow in openings around and hooked big one but bringing up hit limb and got off
Dang it! But kept at it and ended it with 3 real nice ones in boat and list another one.

Great day with new fishing friend and turns out his wife is the better fisherman and look forward to getting our wives together as my wife still owns me as far as biggest crappie.

BTW started at daylight out scouting turkey and had 5 toms several Jake's and crowd o hens out in my favorite field! With several more booming in woods continually near them ! Thats how you get ready for season soon.

On way home hooked up with my crappie fanatic friend and I did some ketchn and releasing on his pond. Couple pics here of those slabs. Then we took his/our last couple of days ketchn and put them in buddies pond. Had a few floating but catfish will enjoy those.

All in all productive couple of days! Tight lines everyone!

Wow Charlie, is a spitting image of a guy I know by Chuck Thomas. I'd swear this was the same guy but I don't think his wife would go near a fishin pole.
