    Default Smithville Intel

I'm thinking of heading to Smithville Saturday 02/27. I know everyone and their mom will probably head out. I have a friend in that area that wants to get out. Fishing for both of us is fun, but catching is better. I'm not asking for your honey hole, but I don't want to just take her out fishing. I'm game for rigging, but jigging works to.

    Please help!

Drove across W bridge last Saturday, the Ville was iced over. Don,t know the thickness of the ice , but several people were ice fishing.

I heard 3" as of Sunday. I can't imagine it will hold up between now and Sat, but I have people who are going to check on it for me Friday before I drag my boat 1.5 hours. The things we do to please a woman! UGH LMBO

I flew over on Wednesday. It was still 100% iced in.
Strike that, Tuesday. The clouds were too thick to see on Wednesday. The Jackson County lakes were still 100% frozen on Wednesday

Unless you have an icebreaker boat I'd say it's a no go! These pics are from about an hour ago. I threw the rocks very high and barley made a dent. Then actually drove my truck on the ice at the boat ramp front tires only until my wife made me stop! It didn't break thru.

The little open water is from a nearby bubbler at the handicap dock.
