    Default Quick Turn to Truman

Headed out to search for some slabs on Saturday morning. The water is up even more for the last 2 trips in Jan. I was marking fish like a mad man in the channel. They weren't feisty enough to chase moving baits and the wind was blowing me all over. This made it difficult to sit still while they contemplated taking my baits. It wasn't an ideal weather day, I managed to get in and out without snow. COLDER THAN A WITCHES TITT out there. I put 3 keepers on the deck and then headed for the hills. LoL Anytime I can get the boat out, I don't care about #s too much, I just like being outside. Had I brought my Mr. Buddy, I might have stayed more than 3 hours.

Now that I think of it, I could have tied off to a tree and drifted out over the channel and sat still. Spot-lock was having fun with the ever swirling winds.

I had to do it. I was disappointed that I put my boat in the garage. I wanted to get out before the single digits kicked in.

I'm 50 if that is your younger days. Dress for success! Had I remembered the Mr. Buddy, I would have been perfectly fine. Bait hooks, hands near the heat. Chill and repeat! Quick Turn to Truman

Guys, I love cold weather. I moved here from South Dakota, where I ice fished all winter long. Some days in the shack, but most outside.

Rooster, 50 is a spring chicken, twenty years from now you'll need another layer of clothes. if I put on enough clothes now to stay warm I would make Michelin Man look anorectic. Fish on my friend and save me a few for spring.

You need to build a shack on a dock. Throw some crappie condos down there. Throw you a nice propane heater in there. Problem solved! Quick Turn to TrumanQuick Turn to TrumanQuick Turn to Truman
