My uncle lives in Joplin and fish’s the are a bit. As others had said the grand lake and river systems is a good option. There is some good crappie and bass in the strip pits on the KS side which is called Mined Wildlife Area. Many for the pits have good boat ramps. Stockton is an hour and a half away as well.

Thank you for all the replies! It is going to be hard to leave NE Texas for sure. I can literally be on the water, boat launched, in less than 15 minutes now (Lake Bob Sandlin). Fork is 30 minutes, Lake of the Pines is an hour.
I am going to have to learn how to plan a little better if I am going to have to drive a ways to get to water. Again, it looks as if the closest water is the river in Oklahoma. I'll have to take Crappiekirby up on his offer😉
Unfortunately this move is taking place end of March, our spawning season here. Last week we had a couple 60+ degree days and my daughter and I got out graphing and I seen a few already starting to stage in the entrances of the creeks in 18-25 fow. Whereas first of January they were pilled up in the deepest part of the lake(45 fow).
You guys will be hearing from me again once I get settled. I appreciate the responses.
