    Default Longview Lake 1/29/21

Have been fishing Longview when I cant carve out the time to go to Smithville. I wanted to find some new fish since all I have been catching here this winter are 4-7 inch fish. So I side scanned a bunch of new water today until I found a new school. Caught 3 12 inchers, 2 11 inchers, 2 10 inchers and a few 9 and unders that I threw back. Much better fish than I've caught here since the summer. All on jigs in 28-34 fow about 8 feet off the bottom.

Nice mess of fish, sometimes it just pays to look around. It amazes me that I find fish in water I have driven by for years to check my honeyholes and find them empty.

Well that is no small feat for sure. Longview is TOUGH.
I can leave my house and be on the water @ LV in 10 minutes. I've pretty much quit fishing it. Now its for coving out and tubing whenever we just have a few hours to play.

I did that on one of my home lakes hit a cove that everyone passes by all the time and no one fishes as it is shallow. So I parked once and walked down right next to cove and had my best day in years as was ketchn fast and furious during spawn! So pays to hit new water and not go to the usual suspects all the time.
