    Default Bass fisherman trying crappie on LOZ this weekend 1/23


    Hey can I find any 10-12 inch crappie around mccubbins point this time of year. Would like to put in there but if its better up the lake like at shawnee bend I can put in there as well. Jigs or shiners better right now? Thanks fellas Greg

    We fished the Shawnee Bend area Monday without much luck till we found a school of them the vertical jigged to catch a few. Good Luck

    Main channel docks in deep water seem to be the best right now. If you have side scan you can scan a row of docks and should be able to find them. You can also scan the middle of coves and find some schools.

    Well I know it's a bit late, but I was going to tell you that you shouldn't spend a lot of time forcing them to bite when you find them. It's not hard to find crappie and you'll know right away if they are biting. If you go more than 10 minutes without getting a fish, go find new fish. I think a lot of guys are trying to force the issue with getting crappie to bite when using their Livescope.

    Problem is I love ketchn even lil bugeye's! but then you reluctantly have to move from ketchn fish to finding bigger ones. something i struggle to do thinking surely there are bigger ones around and need to wade thru bugeyes.
