I was super excited when Jeff called and he and Ripnlips found 26 keepers. So, I headed south for some fun. BTW If someone has launched before you and it's below freezing... the ramp will be slick! I'm sure the three guys waiting to launch behind me were having a laugh!

Got the rods sorted, baited and dropped the first 3 into the holder. I finished the 4th and set it in the holder. Before I could take spot-lock off, crappie on! I landed 3 whites and another crappie in the first 40 yards of trolling. Then it went to slooooow.

I hooked into a handful of whites and another crappie. Moved to another area, caught another nice keeper. With 4 keepers in the well, I wanted 1 or 2 more for fish tacos. I headed back where I caught my first fish and found some bait and BAM #5 in the boat. The wind picked up and blew me off the bait before I could put the current fish on the deck.

Slow going, but it's fishing and the weather was decent with sunshine! It was still chilly!

BONUS INFO: I purchased a Lake Master Card and now I can contour troll hands and foot free. Well for the most part.

I had to stop and admire God's painting!


They will make plenty for some fish tacos with lime cilantro rice, avocados amd cucumber on the side.

We failed on the rice side, but there were plenty of pieces of fish to have enough tacos for 4 with leftovers! Both of my sons pitched in, one making a white sauce and the other making a green jalapeno sauce. TASTY!
