Default not good for sportsman ship

so got this off the interweb. Authorities recently confiscated a massive haul of fish filets from two anglers in Texas who had violated the state’s possession limit. According to the reports, the two fishermen had more than 173 fish than legally permitted.
Texas game wardens seized 350 crappie fillets from two anglers in Upshur County, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page. The wardens were responding to an anonymous tip when they made the discovery.
The daily bag limit for crappies is 25 per person, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s website. Anglers are legally allowed to be in possession of twice the daily bag limit, which falls far short of the 350 fillets the two men were found to be in possession of.

saw that and always wonder why someone would do that. have a couple of guys I know that go every day and usually ketch their limits on big lake then go to the strip pits where the limits are double. they accumulate bunch to give away to those who can't get out and can use the protein or cook them up for local communities charity auction and fundraiser.

raises a question for me. I know you can ketch a limit of fifteen on one public lake like truman and then go down to LOZ and ketch another if you have first one in cooler and seperate. But what about strip pits where you can keep 30. supposed to keep 45 total but that is a public lake limits. can you keep more from private lakes if marked where and when? inquiring minds want to know as my mind is now boggled. didn't know math was going to be on this pop quiz!

Not sure if this link completely answers your question but to me it basically boils down to what the STATEWIDE possession limit is. For Missouri that is 60, so no matter where you caught them or the particular lake limit, your max possession limit is always going to be 60 at best.

I wonder if any one can answer for MO? I've heard several states the possession limit does not apply to your home? TX - AR and FL what about MO???

Daily Limit − The total limit of a certain fish species that may be taken in one day.

Possession Limit − The total limit of a certain fish species that is in your possession at any time, whether on your person or stored in another location.
Fish and wild game (other than migratory game birds) that have been processed and stored at a residence do not count toward a person’s possession limit. A residence is defined as a house or house trailer that is permanently in place and is owned, leased or rented by an individual; it does not include mobile travel trailers, tents, vehicles or temporary rental units (motels, lodges, cabins, resorts, etc.).

If it’s in your freezer, it’s in your Possession!

I've seen two old guys put a limit in and then some in their buckets. Drive away for lunch and come back and do it again.
