Default LOZ Oct 27th thru 30th

First three days I primarily fished for largemouth and did alright just never got any bigger fish; however I had some real tanks show themselves just wouldn't eat. Fished mostly with a Strike King Z Too, Zoom Super Fluke, and wacky rigged Slug Gos on the back of docks. I eventually tied on a jerk bait and caught everything that swims. I got five different species on 7 consecutive casts which proves anything will eat a Rapala Shadow Rap Shad. I had something big break off the only one I had but never fear when it comes to tackle I don't travel light. Tied on an original Shadow Rap and continued catching striped bass, largemouth, spotted bass, hybrids, white bass, blue gill, crappie, and walleye ( if I have all my species correctly identified) on windy points. Friday I teamed up with Tazstone and we limited out on crappie slip corking deep boat wells with minnows. We went then hit the points and caught some more white bass, hybrids, and slab crappie. It was a fun 4 days, my hands are sore. I did get two what I think are hybrid black bass (at least that's what MDC Master Angler lists them...Taz said they are Hybrid White Bass but I don't see that listed) that went over 3 pounds which qualifies for a certificate. If I'm wrong on my species please let me know.Name: 20201029_194120.jpg

MDC lists them as Hybrid Striped Bass however the Master Angler has them as Bass, Hybrid Black. I assume they are talking about the same fish...very confusing.

I think that if you read on down the application for Master Angler you will see Striped Bass Hybrid needs to be 26" 7 lb but those are nice ones? Think the black bass hybrid is for what we call Mean Mouth? The Mean Mouth Bass is the hybrid species that occurs when a Largemouth or a Spotted Bass mate with a Smallmouth Bass I agree it is confusing. Looked like a great trip.

You are correct....the one that broke me off was prob master angler worthy of course since I didn't land it. MDC does not even list a Hybrid Black Bass on the A to Z species so I didn't know what the Master Angler List was referring to.

It's a beautiful thing when you fish hard with little results then suddenly change to the "magic" bait and suddenly It's ON!! thanks for the info on that bait, don't have those in my arsenal. Then getting into nice crappie and stripers and walleye? you had a trip fo show!

If it broke off, it can weigh whatever you say it weighed
