Thanks for the report. We are heading down to LOZ tomorrow and staying at Kon Tiki resort at the mouth of the Little Niangua. Did you go up the Little or stay on the Niangua? Will be sure to look for brush piles.
Thanks Again

I visited our lake home last weekend, 10/2-10/4, and drug the Champion bass boat with me. I typically fish Truman, but I figured I would give the docks a try on the Niangua arm as I love the fall scenery on the Ozarks. Not very many fish were found or caught shooting docks, but the brush pile fishing was on absolute fire. I managed to catch a limit both Friday and Saturday, but you had to weed through the small fish. Most fish were 8" or smaller, but the larger fish were definitely mixed in. It was fun to catch as many fish as I did even though 80% were not keepers. Fish were in 5-15 FOW on brush piles and everything was caught using a blue and chartreuse jig with a 1/16oz head. Pitching and dipping both worked well. I ventured back to Truman for a Sunday afternoon fishing session on the Grand arm and managed to catch some good fish, but overall, fishing was tough with the muddy water. I fished the flats, 10-20 FOW, 12-14 down with minnows and a crappie bomb. Next outing, I will give the creeks a try as I have ready the fish are beginning to return to feed.
Hopefully this helps anyone wondering what the fishing status is for these bodies of water. Happy fishing!

I fished both, but the Little Niangua produced more fish. If you have side imaging, you will have no problem finding plenty of piles to try. If you have livescope, even better. Good luck!
