Default Hubbies biggest fish EVER. Lake sturgeon

Monday before our trip was shortened by rain we got into the Lake Sturgeon. Well I did. Biggest was 34 lbs. Hubby couldn't get any.
All were released healthy. So we went back friday along with some friends. Well hubby showed me up. My biggest was 26 lbs. but he caught his biggest fish ever. A 62" 52lb. Lake sturgeon. All safely returned to the water. Now I have to up my game. Love catching and releasing these fish. So grateful that MDC has brought them back. We catch them using night crawlers. I've had it before. Smoked. Tasted really good! Every year they have a spearing season on Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin and it's a party madhouse! Pull some giants out of there.

I have a cajon friend here that cubed the meat and cooked it in real butter and crab broil. Really rich but oh so good.
